Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as the Manager of Volunteer Services. As the Manager of Volunteer Services, you will be responsible for overseeing the recruitment, training, and management of volunteers for our organization. This is a leadership role that requires excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a passion for making a difference in the community.
Duties:
- Develop and implement volunteer recruitment strategies to attract a diverse pool of volunteers
- Coordinate volunteer orientation and training programs to ensure volunteers are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge
- Assign volunteers to appropriate roles and projects based on their skills, interests, and availability
- Provide ongoing support and supervision to volunteers, including regular check-ins and performance evaluations
- Collaborate with other departments to identify volunteer needs and develop volunteer opportunities that align with organizational goals
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours, activities, and impact
- Develop and implement strategies to recognize and appreciate volunteers for their contributions
- Utilize social media platforms to promote volunteer opportunities and engage with potential volunteers
- Collaborate with the development team to integrate volunteer engagement into fundraising efforts
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in social work, nonprofit management, or a related field (preferred)
- Proven experience in volunteer management or a related field
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire volunteers
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills
- Proficiency in social media management platforms
- Experience working with Salesforce or similar CRM software
- Familiarity with Raiser's Edge or other donor management software (preferred)
- Ability to develop and deliver effective training programs for volunteers
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community partners
